Herri Urrats, the festival in support of Ikastolas in Iparralde, made it to Paris on May 30, thanks to the Basque club there. Pariseko Eskual Etxea organized a program full of activities like games, dance, food and a concert. The money raised will go to support Seaska, the association of Ikastolas in Iparralde. This weekend there will be more Basque atmosphere, thanks to the big Basque Celebration (Euskal Jaia) that will take place at the fronton Txikito de Cambo.
Paris, France. The Association of Ikastolas in Iparralde, Seaska, celebrates a festival annually around the lake in Senpere (Lapurdi), where thousands of Euskaltzales gather from the seven Basque Provinces. The venue, however, is a little far from Paris, so the Basque club there decided one more year to bring the festivities to their clubhouse organizing their own Herri Urrats. Money raised during the day was donated to Seaska.
The event took place on May 30 and included a large program of activities: films, rural sports, and games for adults and children, a dance workshop, a dance performance by the Pinpirinak group, and a concert by Pariseko Liliak, a group formed by Basque girls in the club.
