Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. We can’t gather all of the Olentzero and Mari Domingi visits here at every Basque club and Basque community around the world, but we are providing a selection of videos that we have received with images at least from Australia, the US, Mexico, France, Canada and Argentina. Today it’s the United States’ turn with two videos with visits to families and homes in Salt Lake City, and the Boise Ikastola respectively.
In Salt Lake City, thanks to the Basque Club of Utah, the Olentzero and Mari Domingi traveled by car from one house to another to visit children and their families in the Basque community. At each stop, they sang, danced and passed out gifts. The video shows the visit to the house of Dom and Christina Echeverria, and their children Elaia and Xanti. It should be noted that all fo the enthusiastic participants seen in the video were born in the Untied States, and so were their parents and grandparents in some cases.

The Olentzero also made a tour of Boise, Idaho where he greeted children at the Boiseko Ikastola. Mari Domingi stayed at the hotel this time, resting. Again, excitement, songs and Christmas atmosphere, just like in the previous video, complete with masks due to the pandemic.
