Lekunberri, Navarre. The presentation of this year’s program took place last Tuesday in Pamplona thanks to the Minister of Citizen and institutional Relations of the Government of Navarre, Ana Ollo, accompanied by Salvador Torres, president of the National Federation of Navarran Homes, organizer of the event along with the Government of Navarre, and by the Mayor of Lekunberri, Natalia Azcona, according to the note published by the provincial executive.

Lekunberri will host a program of program of events that will begin on Friday, June 3 with a visit to the Plazaola Station, a showing of an explanative video, a tour of the streets of Lekunberri and its farmhouses, presentation of the event at city hall and a tribute to the town by the National Federation of Navarrese Clubs.
On Saturday, the 4th, the events will begin in the morning with a welcome of the attendees, accompanied by a group of local txistularis in the city plaza, followed by a reception with authorities at the City Hall and transfer in groups to the church of San Juan where mass will be celebrated accompanied by the local choir.
There will also be a welcome and a launching of a rocket from city hall’s balcony with a txistorra and cider tasting, with entertainment provided by trikitixas, and a Herri Kirolak exhibition in the main plaza. At 2:30pm lunch will be served in the fronton.
Throughout the morning there will also be visits to the caves in Astiz, from 11-14:00 there will be guided visits of a half an hour each to touristic points of interest and the more representative of Lekunberri. In the afternoon, the events will continue with a dance to the Orchestra Man and a local dance performance that will conclude the festivities.

The Absent Navarrese-Kanpoan diren Nafarren Eguna has been celebrated since 1989, making this Saturday’s event the 28th. Every year it takes place in a different town, and until now, the Navarreses residing outside of the province have gathered in Corella (twice), Estella-Lizarra, Olite-Erriberri, Sangüesa-Zangotza, Tudela-Tutera, Iruña-Pamplona, Elizondo, Viana, Lumbier-Irunberri, Peralta-Azkoien, Roncal-Erronkari, Tafalla, Lodosa, Aoiz-Agoitz, Los Arcos, Ochagavía-Otsagabia, Milagro, Auritz-Burguete, Fitero, Arguedas, Artajona, Funes, Ultzama, Mendavia, Isaba-Izaba and Andosilla.
