La Plata, Argentina. Just a month and is left before the Argentine National Basque Week (Semana Nacional Vasca) takes place on November 1-9th in the city of La Plata, and the hosting Basque club is working hard to finalize the details. Nevertheless, the tentative program that EuskalKultura.com anticipated yesterday shows some new proposals, that we want to comment.
Thus, as a result of an agreement signed by the Mayor of La Plata, Pablo Burera; the president of the Euzko Etxea, Javier Clua; and the Argentine Industrial Union of Gran La Plata (UIA), Francisco Gliemmo, A Basque-Argentine Agro-Industrial Expo will be held. Its objective is to generate a field of exchange and development of joint ventures between companies form the region and the Basque Country. In the same way, and according to the agreement, they also want to “promote and preserve historical and current Basque contributions to the work and production in Argentina, through businesses linked to the economic development of the national territory” as well as “develop inter-business exchanges between the Basque Country and La Plata.”
The mega exhibition, where more than 50 stands can be visited, will exhibit the industrial and agricultural production activity in the Basque Country, as well as in the La Plata region. To complement, there will also be a traditional food court available. The exhibit will include the presence of authority of the Basque Autonomous Community, the Provincial Community of Navarre and the Department of the Atlantic Pyrenees. The Agro-Industrial Expo will take place in the Republica de los Niños, fairgrounds located at Camino General Belgrano y Calle 500, Gonnet.
Collaboration with Hargatik
And as the countdown begins, the Basque club invites anyone interested to participate with an ad in the Hargatik magazine, in a special issue this year that celebrates Semana Vasca, and the Basque club’s 70th Anniversary.
The magazine measures 21 x 29,8 cms (A4, full color) and the cost of an ad (7 x 10cm) is 300 pesos. Interested parties should send the complete information, including logos, to the Euzko Etxea secretaria@cvascolaplata.org.ar.
