Bariloche, Argentina. The members of the Bariloche Basque club have been submerged in the preparations for the Festival of European-Argentinean Communities that will take place during the first weekends in November. The preparations don’t only include dance rehearsals, but also putting up the infrastructure from which they will offer Basque gastronomic specialties to the public.
Members of the dance group Mendiko Dantzariak will perform in two groups. The adults will perform: “Bok Espok,” “Arin Arin,” and “Godalet Dantza,” with the kids doing “Txinparta.” Finally to end the performance everyone, all 23 dancers, will perform “Ikurrin Dantza,” and “Kalejira.” Meanwhile, during the four days of the festival, Basque club members will man the club’s booth that will sell dishes and freshly prepared drinks to accompany the meals.
As you can see, the event has been very close to the National Basque Weeks and so due to the expense of traveling from Bariloche to Rosario, the Mendiko Euzko Etxea was not able to participate this year. In the Bariloche event the Patagonean Basques have a very important job to do as part of the 33 Festival of European-Argentinean Communities where they will become excellent ambassadors of the culture of Euskal Herria.
