Maipu, Argentina. Inspired by the desire to “get together, remember, talk and relive group moments of Egunabar (name of their dance group),” the Anaitasuna Basque Club held its first Dantzari and Ex-Dantzaris Gathering. The event was for dancers of all ages, but unfortunately, the numbers were not as large as hoped. Those attending though did enjoy the activities planned, photos and videos, pintxos, tripakiak and txistorra, and original crafts. Some event participated in a spontaneous Mus workshop so that more can participate in next year’s “Caio” Elizondo tournament, organized by the club.
As expected the main attraction was dance and included choreographies that they remembered, along with other chosen by those attending, hands above their heads, fandangos, Lantz Carnival, and Jauziak.

It is worth mentioning that some former dantzaris attended with their parents and children. “This is a true reflection of what our club means to us: children who have been part of it since 1976 and now enjoying the event, and children that have felt Basques since they were txikis and enjoying their culture,” the organizers explained, in light of the atmosphere achieved, they are planing to do this again next year.
