The event is for today, beginning at 19:00 at the pedestrian area of San Nicolas, province of Buenos Aires with the participation of local organizations, institutions and communities. The program is large and will convert the commercial center of the city into a large showcase for each community to display its works. In the case of Lagun Onak, they will perform dances and provide food and information about the Basque Country.
Pergamino, Argentina. The Arte Noche Festival is a proposal of the city of Pergamino so that local institutions, groups and communities can show the community the fruit of their work. The fifth edition of this festival begins today at 19:00 and will take place at the city’s commercial center. The Lagun Onak Basque club has been getting ready for the occasion for some time and will have a stand as well as put on a dance show.
The food stand will be on Mitre Street between San Nicolas and 25 de mayo and there the club will also provide information on the Basque Country, Basque last names, souvenirs and dances by the txikis. In addition, near dinner time, you can also enjoy cold cuts and seafood casserole.
Just a few feet from there, at the corner of the pedestrian area of San Nicolas and Mitre the stage will be set where the club’s adult dancers will perform.
Anniversary and End of Year Party
Along with the invitation to participate in today’s activities, the club also informed us that it celebrated its anniversary and end of year party on November 28. “It was a big year and we are very happy. That is why we decided to say goodbye with a party on the 28 as well as participating in Arte Noche so that we could begin 2016 with our batteries recharged,” Alicia Ruiz Moreno, club member told EuskalKultura.com.
The double festivities gathered 120 people at the clubhouse. In addition to dinner, the hosts provided their guests a large number of dances by the local dance group as well as the Ekin Dantzari Taldea from Buenos Aires. The celebration lasted into the night with a dance, with live music by Lado B.
The City’s Anniversary
As they have done over the last few years, the Lagun Onak Basque club accompanied the city in its festivities, activities and official events. They were also in attendance on December 13 at the 120th anniversary of the city, being represented by their dancers, Goizeko Izarra.
