Buenos Aires, Argentina. The sub commission of culture at the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea organized the literary contest, “Basque Women” as part of its 120th anniversary celebration. The event was very successful and included the participation of writers from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Ireland, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, the Basque Country and Argentina.
As explained to EuskalKultura.com by one of the contest organizers, Norma Rios, “the quantity --106 texts-- and the quality of the works caused a delay in the publication of the results since, after long deliberations, the jury decided to add a sixth prize as well as present fourteen diplomas for “ literary recognition.”
