Tres Arroyos, Argentina. The 51st Edition of the Provincial Wheat Festival began yesterday, March 5th and concluded on Sunday with the Official Parade and the presentation of the Golden Spike. The Hiru Erreka Basque Club has been part of the festival since its beginning with its standard-bearers at the inauguration through the finale, making a special contribution every day with both gastronomic and cultural proposals.
At the food stands, Hiru Erreka provided Txistorra, ham and pintxos, “always recognized and sought out by the public for their quality and flavor,” according to the sukaldaris. Without a doubt, the largest audience gathered to watch the dances, and the club’s dantzaris took advantage of the event on Saturday night to perform Sorgin Dantza, Fandango and Arin Arin.
Txiki Eguna
After the summer break, the Euskal Etxea resumed its activity in February with Txiki Eguna in the Basque Plaza in Tres Arroyos. The event was very successful with some 20 children, some accompanied by their families, attending spending the afternoon in the sun, playing games, dancing and having a snack.
“The event not only served as the beginning of the club’s activities, but also for the neighboring children to join in and consult about our other Basque club activities,” club sources told EuskalKultura.eus.
