The Idaho Stampede, the NBA's Development basketball team from Boise, will partner with the city's Ikastola to raise funds for the Basque preschool with $5 of each already discounted ticket, going to the educational institution. The Basque Museum and Cultural Center invites sports fans to join them “for a fun time,” as reported to EuskalKultura.com.
Boise, ID. Basketball lovers, mark your calendars. On March the 11th, the Idaho Stampede will partner with the Boiseko Ikastola to raise funds for the Basque preschool. $5 of each ticket for the Stampede-Spurs game purchased through the event's website will go to the Boiseko Ikastola. As part of the collaboration, the Ikastola kids will also get to enjoy a field trip to the stadium, participate in the High Five Tunnel, and get autographs from their favorite players. The game will be played at the CenturyLink Arena, in Boise, starting at 7:00 p.m. Each ticket costs $13 as opposed to the regular price, of $15. People willing to support the Ikastola and this particular event will have to purchase the tickets by March 10, at noon, at the latest.
Involved with the community
Founded in 1997, the Idaho Stampede has become part of the city and its community by continuously collaborating with different associations and participating in events. Besides the Ikastola's fundraiser, this past Saturday, February 20, the Stampede wore limited edition Black History Month jerseys, which featured influential African-Americans on the side of each player's jersey. After the game, the team auctioned off the jerseys to raise money for the Idaho Black History Museum.
Along with this, the Stampede will be part, for another year, of the Real Me Wear Pink campaign, which works to raise awareness about breast cancer. Partnering with St. Luke's MSTI, the players will wear custom pink jerseys that will also be auctioned after the game.
