Tres Arroyos, Argentina. The anticipated celebration took place last Saturday on October 7 and gathered a large number of people in the morning at the show at the Plaza Vasca, as well as that night at the anniversary dinner at the Euskal Etxea. The program began with music and dancing performances at the plaza that was inaugurated in July that includes traditional symbols of the Basque culture including Ikurriñas, Lauburus, and a “Ongi Etorri” as well as a mural of “Guernica.” Those that went to the plaza didn’t just go for the show: they also went for the club’s txistorra, tortilla, tripota and even to try the wine bota that was also present.
Around 10pm, the event moved to the clubhouse and where guests enjoyed an excellent menu and more music and dancing. The club’s neskak, txikis and intermediates once again showed off their new costumes and dances. There were also a number of raffles and games to practice Euskera. The festivities concluded with a toast for the club’s birthday, and an especially active year.
