Invited by the Municipal Directorate for Tourism in Rauch, and the Commission for the Recuperation of the Castillo San Francisco, Gure Txokoa organized a Basque exhibit in the historic castle located in the town of Egaña area, province of Buenos Aires. The event ran for two weekends and provided the public with photos, traditional costumes, and information on Euskal Herria.
Rauch, Argentina. The Gure Txoko Basque club in Rauch put a display together in the Castle San Francisco, located in Egaña. The exhibit included photos of farm houses, Basque instruments, crafts and cities in the Basque Country. It also included traditional dress that belongs to the club, in an event that took place on the last weekend in April and the second weekend in May.
The institution also prepared guided visits of the exhibit, where they explained relevant information aobut the items exhibited. Silvia Conte, club member was in charge of the exhibit.
“The Basque club is in constant contact with the Directorates of Tourism and Culture in Rauch and we normally attend events that we are invited to. In this case, we want to especially thank, not only the Directorate of Tourism, but also the Commission for the Recuperation of the Castle San Francisco for the invitation and of course, to everyone who accompanied us,” Silvia Conte told EuskalKultura.com.
The Basque club is also organizing its Big Annual Dinner that is tentatively planned for July, potentially to be celebrated along with the feast of San Fermin.
