Cordoba, Argentina. Besides specific activities that spread the Basque language and culture, the Gure Txokoa Basque Club in Cordoba City cultivates relationships with other local institutions, especially with educational centers that come to the Basque club requesting information about the community. On this occasion, four students from the Language Section V (English), at the College of Languages at the National University in Cordoba chose Gure Txokoa as the central theme for a project.
In the “Multicultural Presentation: The Basque Community in Cordoba,” Caterine del Pilar, Gabriela Semenkiw, Mailén Ludueña and Ayelen Taborda, who often attend Basque club events talked about general aspects of Basque immigration to Cordoba, the creation of the Basque club and its current situation, synthesizing the activities at this Euskal Etxea and especially its celebrations.
The video presentation, complete with photos was done in English that will certainly allow, in the words of the club’s president, Alejo Martin, to reach the Basque Diaspora in English-speaking countries like the US, England and Australia. “If this presentation reaches these places, they will find out, in their native language, what we are doing in this part of the world.” Zorionak! Or in this case Congratulations!
