Antioquia, Colombia. The Gure Mendietakoak Basque club ended 2013 with games for the children in the small town of Caldas, Antioquia, on December 20. According to club sources, as part of the program that aimed to introduce children to the Basque culture, telling stories about Basque mythology and making special reference to the Olentzero, the mythical Basque Christmas character.
There were also many other fun activities like a puppet show, a workshop on how to make handcrafted clay and face-painting for the kids. In addition there were also many games and children’s rounds where the kids could sing and dance merrily.

The event that was completely voluntary, “filled the club members with joy because they shared a wonderful evening with the community and the children expressed their gratitude with hugs, smiles, much tenderness and love,” says club sources.
