Tandil, Argentina. The centennial fronton at the Euskal Etxea in Tandil will open its doors to women who would like to learn and play this traditional Basque sport. Classes will take place Monday-Friday from 1-5pm, twice a week, with the scheduled being coordinated by the instructor, Tina Corbal. Corbal is originally from De La Garma, but was trained in the discipline at the Tandil Basque Club.
Gure Etxea is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Club sources tell us “the idea to open this school began when we decided to create a children’s pelota school for kids between the ages of 8-12, with the majority being boys, we then decided to open classes to girls as well.”
Interested persons should go to the clubhouse located on Sarmiento 1079 to confirm availability and schedules.
