Olavarría, Argentina. The city of Olavarria in the province of Buenos Aires celebrated its 152nd anniversary. With such a marked Basque presence since its foundation, as evidenced in the town’s name, the birthday celebration was not lacking the participation of the local Basque community. Every year the Euskal Etxea participates in the festivities that gathers some 70 thousand people, and this year, was no exception. In the Helios Eseverri Park, the Gure Etxe Maitea Basque Club with Maria Susana Mendizabal at the head manned a food stand.
From November 8-10, a delegation from Gure Etxe Maitea also participated in Semana Nacional Vasca in Bahia Blanca, at meetings as well as the dances and the Theater Gala. Participants gathered images of their experience in the video that follows.
