Olavarría, Argentina. The Olavarria Basque Club has begun “a new phase,” with an improved clubhouse that includes the construction of two disabled accessible bathrooms, coat closets in the SUM and kitchen and various repairs to the patio. The work that began in the summer and ran through April gives the clubhouse a completely renovated look. To celebrate this and to thank everyone for their efforts, they held an inaugural lunch.
The event began with a toast and Susana Mendizabal, club president, summarized the history of the club and stressed the importance of “everyone’s contributions.”
“Today is a very important day especially if we remember what the club was like 9 years ago when we arrived. Now we are a model club, that has grown, and this is also the moment for our youth to take over to continue our work,” Mendizabal said while inviting the youth to get involved in the Euskal Etxea.
