The Chacabuco Basque club gathered more than 100 people at its anniversary dinner. The txikis from the Guillermo Larregui club will participate in July at the Dantzaris Gathering that is organized in Pergamino while, the club is getting ready to participate in the Rural Society Exhibit, as well as for its monthly meetings, and finally their trip to the Basque Country, for members and friends, in September.
Chacabuco, Argentina. The 27th anniversary festivities of the club were held on June 19th and was the perfect occasion for the club’s txikis to show off their costumes and delight the crowd with their dances. What is for sure, is that there were 35 txikis and that they were the event’s main attraction. But the adults weren’t left out, and they also performed a sample of their choreographies for those present.
According to club president, Pablo Pavesa, “the event was very nice, by the number of people, nearly 200 people and because of the teamwork. The women prepared Tripakiak, callos a la Bizkaina and Canelones, and hamburgers for the kids. The adult dancers, besides entertaining, also served tables.”
There were also raffles during the evening, “souvenirs that we brought from the Basque Country last year,” Pavesa said, along with music, dance and partying into the night. It should also be noted that there were also representatives from clubs in Pergamino and Cañuelas who accompanied Chacabuco in their celebration.
Program for the coming months
The action isn’t slowing down at the club as the aforementioned, Dantzaris Gathering will be held at the Lagun Onak in Pergamino in July. “This event is on Saturday the 16 and we will also go with the txikis, who are especially excited about the possibility of dancing elsewhere,” Pavesa said.
On August 25-28, the annual exhibit “Chacabuco’s Rural Society” will take place and Guillermo Larregui will be present there too with a Booth of typical dishes. In other activities, members of the club will travel to Laprida to participate in the National Mus Tournament and above all to share with the locals regarding tournament organization since Chacabuco will host the 2017 National Tournament.
Finally, the Guillermo Larregui club also published that a group will leave for the Basque Country in September 25. “This year, we increased our number to 41 travelers that makes us very happy and proud. Before, the trip we are thinking of holding some meetings, above all thinking not all of the travelers are from our community and that this way they can get to know is and enjoy some of our club activities. These activities will include a film and a talk,” Pavesa said who will also accompany everyone on the trip to Euskal Herria.
