Chacabuco, Argentina. The Guillermo Larregui Basque club in Chacabuco and the Centro Navarro in Buenos Aires host this cultural event above all to encourage the participation of youth, for whom, in virtue of the cooperation of these two institutions, the cost will be minimal.
In the words of Pablo Pavesa, president of the Guillermo Larregui club, “it was by coincidence I met in a event the president of the Navarrese Center, Esteban Kordich, and we agreeded to work together on the event, dedicated to dance and to getting our youth together.”
“The involvement of both centers allows, in this case, for us to pay for Saturday’s lunch and that the Navarrese Center does the same on Sunday, having donated five piglets. In this way, and keeping in mind that the city is allowing us to put the dantzaris up at a municipal school, the cost to participate is reduced to the cost of beverages, whatever each one wants to drink during Saturday night’s dance, and travel,” Pavesa explains.
Program of Activities
The weekend’s events will begin on Saturday morning with a workshop by dance director Aitor Alava, who recently returned from the Gaztemundu program. After lunch, around 4pm the dance performances will take place in the middle of the city, at the Plaza San Martin. After the show, kids will return to the clubhouse where there will be a dance. On Sunday morning there will be another workshop, again by Alava, and finally all the participants will share a farewell meal.
Those who have RSVP’d include Denak Bat from Cañuelas; Lagun Onak from Pergamino; Beti Aurrera from Chivilcoy; the Ekin Dantzari Taldea from Buenos Aires; and the Navarrese Center, who will include a delegation of 25 people between dantzaris and chaperones.
