Chino, CA. The event is this Saturday at the Chino Basque Club. The dantzaris of Gauden Bat are hoping to travel to Euskal Herria, as well as participate in Jaialdi in Boise and so are raising money with this Game Night with Gauden Bat. The event is open to the public and so anyone wishing to participate, or have dinner, or spend an enjoyable evening while helping out the dancers are invited to attend.
The event begins at 4pm. Anyone wishing to attend can buy tickets for $5 or $10 to participate in the games and raffles. Among these are some traditional Basque games like Mus and and the longest Irrintzi contest, or highest Banako kick, but there are others such as Giant Jenga, Cornhole and Bingo. At 7pm dinner will be served ($25 per person) thanks to the Chino Centro Basco restaurant of the Berterretche family.
All proceeds will be to support the projects of this dance group that includes some 30 young Basque-Californians between the ages of 13-30. Among their projects is a trip to Euskal Herria and another to Boise to perform at Jaialdi 202 , but they also hope to update their costumes in order to represent the Basque culture in this part of the country in the best way possible.
Your support is appreciated. You can contact them via email: chinogaudenbat@gmail.com.
