The event was attended by coachs Pablo Ubierna, from the Laurak Bat Basque Club in Buenos Aires, and Sebastian Errecart from the Zingirako Euskaldunak Basque club in Chascomus, as supervisors. The school is located in in the trinquete of the Progreso Club with Patxi Etchevers Rosas, Vice-President of the Basque Club of Concordia, as local person in charge.
Concordia, Argentina. In a good year for Basque pelota in the country, with a Project in progress supported by FEVA to create Handball and Xare schools in the Basque clubs, the first of these was opened on November 18 at the trinquete at the local Progreso Club in Concordia where children of both sexes will be taught and trained in both disciplines.
On the school’s first day, Project directors, Pablo Ubierna and Sebastian Errecart, taught a lesson of the game and gave a talk on Basque pelota. A group of pelotaris from Chacosmus, including Estanislao Alfonsín, Tomás Menchacabaso, Lorenzo Vázquez and Tomás Scardigno also helped with practice and played an exhibition handball match.,
The Basque Pelota School of the Basque Community of Concordia has Patxi Etchevers Rosas as its reference. He accompanied in October his peers from the Saltoko Euskaldunen Taldea in Uruguay at the inauguration of their school “Basque Pelota School Nelson Vigo”.
