The Berlin Euskal Etxea continues with its end of year program, inviting everyone to participate tonight in the showing of the documentary Markak, directed by Hannot Mintegia with members of the “Lobak” Association also present, Amaia Badiola and Usua Uribe. On Sunday, there is another event, a concert by the Aitor Etxebarria Ensemble, and next week “Euskal Zinema Berlinen,” Basque film in berlin with various screenings of Basque films.
Berlin, Germany. After the presentation last week at the Euskal Etxea by Pantxoa Etchegoin, director of the EKE, Iparralde’s Basque cultural center, the club has more going on this week at the Gernika Deutsch-Baskischer Kulturverei or Berlin Euskal Etxea.
There are only a few weeks left of 2017, the year of the 80th anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika, and as part of the program organized to commemorate it, tonight the documentary Markak will be shown with its director also present, Hannot Mintegia, and two members of the “Lobak” (grandchildren) association Amaia Badiola y Usua Uribe.
The film will be shown in its original Basque version with subtitles in German done by the Berlin Basque club. The event will take place at 8pm at the Wolf Kino, Weserstraße 59, in Berlin-Neukölln.
The second part will take place on Sunday with a concert by the Aitor Etxebarria Ensemble, who will come to Berlin as part of the same "Markak" project. This will take place at the Musikbrauerei, Greifswalder Str. 23A, 10405 Berlin, also at 8pm.
Next week there will be more activity with the Euskal Zinema Berlinen (Basque film in Berlin) with the screening of various titles throughout the week, through December 3rd, International Day of Euskera, and the celebration of that day along with many Basque clubs around the world.
