The Patagonian Basque club in Comodoro, in the Argentine province of Chubut, is getting ready for a week of activities to commemorate its 95^th anniversary.  The celebration will begin on Sunday the 13^th with mass and will conclude a week later, when the club hosts the 5^th Meeting of Patagonian Basque Clubs.

Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina.  Located some 1,880 kilometers from Buenos Aires, the Euskal Echea Association of Comodoro Rivadavia is the oldest club in Patagonia.   For nearly a century, it has gathered Basque immigrants and their descendants and has become a reference of the Basque culture on the Argentine southern coast

2018, is a special year for the Basque community since it marks the 95^th anniversary of the Euskal Echea Association of Comodoro Rivadavia. The event will be commemorated with a week of activities that are open to the public.  Program follows:

-Sunday, May 13:  19hs, mass at he S.J. Bosco Cathedral;
-Tuesday, May 15: 18hs, children’s games; 19:30hs, Inauguration of “Transforming Looks,” exhibit that gathers material from various awareness raising campaigns promoted by Emakunde (Basque Institute for Women).  The exhibit will remain open to the public throughout the week.  Lagun Artean choir recital, memories of the past;
-Wednesday, May 16: 19hs, dance workshop; 20:30hs, cooking workshop;
-Thursday, May 17: 18:30hs, pilota/paleta workshop; 20hs, mus tournament; recognition of former presidents and former queens;
-Friday, May 18: Reception for delegations participating in the 5^th Meeting of Patagonian Basque Clubs;
-Saturday, May 19: 5^th Meeting of Patagonian Basque Clubs; 95^th Anniversary dinner.
