Boise, Idaho, USA. The exhibit is based on the book by the same name written by Meggan Laxalt Mackey published last year by the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. Along with the exhibit, Laxalt will give a talk on Thursday November 14th at the Frank Church Room on the second floor of the library about the process of publishing a book.
Born in 1957, in Carson City, Nevada’s capital, Meggan Laxalt Mackey graduated in History from Boise State University (BSU) and is a third generation Basque-American, granddaughter of Dominque and Therese (Alphetche) Laxalt. She has resided in Idaho now for more than three decades and has been a member of the board of the Boise Basque Museum and teaches workshops as part of BSU’s Basque Studies Program.
