Villa Maria, Argentina. The amphitheater in the city of Villa Maria was full of colors, music and flavors to celebrate another edition of the Festival of Collectivities last Saturday, November 17th. Organized by the city, the event included the participation of more than a dozen communities including Peruvian, Bolivian, Cuban, Spanish, Balearic, Italian, Indian, Syrian-Lebanese, and Basque. The local Euzko Etxea represented the Basque traditional culture with food, music and dance.
Club sukaldaris (cooks) presented portions of txistorra, piperade, and tortilla, as well as provided kalimotxos. On stage, the adult and txiki dancers performed along with the Basque choir directed by Lorena Marin performing part of its repertoire.
Without a doubt the element that caught the most attention was the Tamborrada. As last year, the group of drummers from the Euzko Etxea brought the sounds of this festival in Donostia to the amphitheater to the surprise of the more than 3,000 in attendance.
