As it has done for the last few years, Semana Nacional Vasco Argentina (Basque Argentine National Week) will also be the time when information about Basque classes for the next semester will be publicized. The organizers of the event have announced the contest rules for posters designed for this purpose. The deadline to send your ideas is October 27 and the prize will be a certificate, the diffusion of the chosen work, and the honor of having designed the image of Euskera in Argentina for the 2017 school year.
Necochea, Argentina. Semana Nacional begins in less than a month and a half. Eyes of the Basque-Argentine Diaspora are already set on the second weekend of November. Remember that the festivities will begin on Monday the 7th but the main events will take place Friday-Sunday, November 11-13.
The program includes, besides the activities that take place on those days, another series of proposals that happen before-hand but that are also part of the mega-festival. Among these, choosing the design to be used to advertise Basque classes in Argentina. The Euzko Etxea has just published the contest rules that follow here:
-Participants: The contest is open to all Basque students and teachers from Basque clubs in Argentina, either as individuals or in groups. Each person, or group, can present more than one poster.
-Theme: promotion of Basque instruction in Argentina oriented as propaganda of Basque courses in Basque clubs for the upcoming school year.
-Poster characteristics: the proposal will be presented in a box 0,35 x 0,50m. Maximum of four colors. Works done in tempera, marker or printed will be accepted. Works done in pencil will not be accepted.
-Presentation: The work should be signed with a nickname of the artist or team. In a sealed envelope, with the name of the team outside, it will include the name, ID #, telephone, email, name of club and city, Basque club’s Basque reference, and if you are a teacher or student. In case of being a student, please include the name of your teacher.
-Deadline and delivery: Deadline to submit artwork is October 27, 2016. They can be mailed to: Centro Vasco Argentino "Euzko Etxea" C/ 58 esq. 65 (7630) Necochea. Pelase send an email advising that the work was mailed to centrovasconecochea@yahoo.com.ar
-Prize: Certificate and use of the design on all materials used for publicizing all over the country for Basque contests in 2017. The prize will be awarded at the closing banquet at Semana Vasca.
-Jury: Will be comprised by people chosen by the board of the organizing club. To use the winning poster in the campaign for the dissemination of Basque Language Courses, if possible, the organizers reserves the right to introduce amendments that will suggest how essential, with the agreement of the author. If it exists, a digital copy of the winning poster will also be requested. Participation in the contest implies the acceptance of all of the point presented hear on the part of all participants. In the same way, the organizing entity has the right to make modifications if they are deemed suitable for the best performance of the competition.
