Viña del Mar-Valparaíso, Chile. After the emotional farewell of Aita Kepa Bilbao Laca, who passed away in Viña del Mar on June 14th, the Basque club has announced its upcoming events that include this Thursday, June 28th, a night of Basque song in Euskera and Spanish, thanks to the Lusitania Duo. During the gathering presented as a “ San Fermin warmup,” there will be Basque poetry and dancing. The event will be at the La Kultural Pará in Valparaiso, at 8pm, admission is free.
In July dance and film will come back to the euskal etxea program. Dance classes will begin on June 6th at the clubhouse beginning at 11 for txikis and 12:10 for the adults. In regards to Basque film, this will be at the Museum of Decorative Arts “Palacio Rioja,” in Viña de; Mar. Films to be shown are Amama on Friday, July 12th and Oreina on July 19th and Dantza on July 26th.
Farwell to Fr. Kepa Bilbao Laca
The local Basque community gathered at the Euzko Etxea to say goodbye to Fr. Kepa Bilbao Laca on June 15th at the Parish of Carmelite Fathers in Viña del Mar. Eñaut Gereñu, club president and president performed the Aurresku accompanied on the txistu by Ramuntxu.
