Montevideo, Uruguay. The work was done by Rocio Matosas Echebarne at the club’s request. It was officially inaugurated on the corner of Bacigalupi and Madrid Streets on the club’s façade on December 3rd as part of the club’s ENE commemoration. The event began with an Aurresku by Mauricio Ituarte accompanied by the Txistu and Tamboril played by Alejandro Anso, and continued with a talk by Juan Pedro Arin about what happened in Gernika in April 1937.
Arin and Juan Carlos Ariztegui also unveiled a plaque about the significance of the bombing in Basque and Spanish as part of the event. The artist also explained what techniques Picasso had used in the original work, as well as the significance of each character in the mural.

Channel 12 in Montevideo covered the event and interviewed Baldomero Anso and the artist who is originally from Paysandu.
