The intensive training course for Basque professors supported by HABE in South America will take place in Salto, Uruguay organized in conjunction with the local Basque club, the Saltoko Euskaldunen Taldea and FEVA. The event will begin on January 17, 2015 and will gather teachers in training from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.
Salto, Uruguay. With the coming of the New Year so does another section of the 2013-2016 Euskara Munduan program. According to the previously set date, and looking at holding two annual face-to-face get-togethers as stipulated in the program, the Summer Barnetegi will take place on January 17-24 and will gather students and teachers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. There will be something new this year, with this being the first event being held with this group in Uruguay.
Students will attend two blocks of the classes in the morning from 9-11 and then from 11:30-1:pm and another two in the afternoon from 18-19:00 (individual work) and from 19:30-21:00. During the course there will be a review of material learned online and oral communication and practice will be the focus of the entire course in and outside of class. In regards to teaching, Kinku Zinkunegi will be in charge of the program along with Dani Oiarbide and teachers from Argentina, Gabriela Mendia and Sabrina Otegui.
FEVA has also announced that the classes and lodging will all be at the Los Cedros Hotel in Salto while meals will be offered a the Basque Club.
