Mexico City, Mexico. After the summer recess, the Basque club in the Mexican capital will resume its usual activities this month including its Basque classes. For the upcoming cycle 2019-2020 they will begin with two courses, a beginner’s class and a more advanced class. Beginners will have class on Tuesdays from 7pm-9pm, with Iñigo Bilbao beginning September 10th. The more advance students will continue with Gurutzne Etxeberria, beginning a little later, on October 15th also on Tuesdays from 5-7pm.
When asked what kind of students take Basque at the club, Iñigo explained that there are two kinds of students, “Those that are learning because of work, or because they have to travel soon to Euskal Herria but when they see that the process isn’t that quick, they don’t continue. There are also those at the club that are more faithful, and despite their difficulties getting to the clubhouse, they stick it out until the end of the course.”
