Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first recital of the concert series took place on April 6, 2011 in the chapel of the Euskal Echea Institute which is found on Sarandi Street in Buenos Aires. On this occasion Uruguayan organist Cristina García Banegas presented an attractive program of Bach and Piazzolla.
The internationally renowned artist, who has produced many albums, also performed two pieces of the Basque composers Fernando Eguiguren, from the 18th century, and Aita Donostia.
Renowned artists will participate throughout the series in the little chapel of the Institute, including Enrique Rimoldi, who will perform with trumpeter Fernando Ciancio; the Uruguayan María de Lourdes Repetto; Cristina Deanna, whose performance will include the voices of the Lagun Onak choir and José María Gutiérrez on the txistu; and Ana Paula Segurola.
The concerts, which will always include a Basque composer, will take place the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm and are free to the public. All concerts will be held at the Euskal Echea Institute (Sarandí 735).
