Donostia-San Sebastián. The Etxepare Basque Institute needs four lecturers to teach Basque language and culture at various university in Catalonia, Italy and the US during the 2019-2020 academic year. These four posts are in Barcelona at the Autonomous University of Barcelona(UAB) and the University of Barcelona (UB); another in Italy to teach at the Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna and Ca’Foscari in Venice, as well as one at UCSB in Santa Bárbara and another one at the University of Chicago.
Eligible applicants should have a university degree as well as EGA. To work in Barcelona the B2 level of Catalan is also required as well as in Italy. In the US successful applicants should have level C1 English in Santa Barbara and C2 in Chicago. Individuals with degrees in Basque Philology, Basque Studies, Translation and Interpreting will be preferred as well as those in the fourth level of PL in Euskera.
In the case of the University of Chicago, the selected individual will teach Basque language as well as Spanish; and candidates should apply to both the University of Chicago (here, selecting reference #04076) and the Etxepare Basque Institute.
