Donostia-San Sebastian. Today, June 7, the call for the selection process for lecturers at the Etxepare Basque Institute was published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country. There are three positions, two in Germany and one in Ireland. Anyone wishing to participate in the process needs to apply within a month of the next day of this publication.
Candidates should hold a degree, preferably in Basque philology or Basque Studies, or in Translation and interpretation (Language A: Euskera). If not a holder of the aforementioned degrees, then licenciatura as well as EGA or equivalent degree would be acceptable.
Job characteristics
- Lecturer at the University of Kontanz: Salary 29,250 Euros. Teaching hours: 6-8 a week. Specific requirements: Level A2 in accredited German.
- Lecturer at the University of Frankfurt: Salary 27,900 Euros. Teaching hours: 8 a week. Specific requirements: Level C1 in accredited German.
- Lecturer at the University of Cork: Salary: 16,000 Euros. Teaching hours: 150 hours a year during 2013-2014 (50-70 hours of class and the rest to do other tasks assigned by the Etxepare Basque Institute. During 2014-2015 and 2015-2016: maximum of 150 class hours annually. Specific requirements: Level C2 in accredited English.
