Paris, France. On August 21st, members of the Eskualduna Association in Paris will gather in the Behe Nafarroan town of Larzabale to celebrate another edition of its Journée des Basques or Basque Day. Last year the event was celebrated in Luhuso in Lapurdi.
Eskualduna is one of the pioneer associations in the Basque community in Paris and is part of the Pariseko Eskual Etxea. Specifically, Eskualduna was created in 1912 for Basque immigrants residing in the city, to welcome and help other recently arrived Basque immigrants. The entity reached as many as 400 members.
This year the annual Basque Country event will take place at the Hotel and Restaurant du Trinquet in Larzabale. The program, according to the Paris Eskual Etxea is as follows:
-11:00, Mass at the Larzabale Church
-12:30, Aperitifa
-followed by a meal at the Restaurant du Trinquet, prepared by Chef Thierry Olharan
