A few weeks ago a new communication medium has appeared online, originating from the Basque Country with the aim to present the Basque reality to the world. It is called the Basque Tribune and has a different feature since it is published in English. Its promoters want to respond to the demand for international information on Euskal Herria directly, with their own version of things. We invite our readers to get to know this new medium.

Donostia-San Sebastian.  The digital Basque magazine, Basque Tribune, is a new medium from the Basque Country that aims to reach readers all over the world.  The magazine is published entirely in English to reach readers directly without filters, for those international reads who want to know more about the various aspects of the reality and Basques today.

The magazine is free at www.basquetribune.com and its contents include economy, politics, society, culture, Euskera…but always from within.

As an example of its contents, articles currently included are:

-“JAI ALAI” or Globalization
-Irizar: From Ormaiztegi to Five Continents
-Basque Language on the Web: Making an Impact
-‘Made in Basque’ Fashion
-The Enclave of Treviño: a Secular Territorial Dispute
-“Euskalkultura.com” The Informative Reference on the Basque Diaspora (eskerrik asko Basque Tribune, for dedicating an article to us!).

The team at the Basque Tribune is led by Iñaki Galdos (Oñati) editor and supporter of the project.  Trained in the world of education and communication, during his years in politics Galdos came into contact with the Basque diaspora.  This contact, according to the Basque Tribune created the dream of “introducing Euskal Herria to the world in a different way, distancing itself from the dynamics of daily news and with the advice and guidance of top experts in various fields.”  As part of the committee of experts that advises the magazine, there are names form the world of literature, culture in general and online communication like Aingeru Epaltza, Maite Goñi, Xabier Itçaina, Jule Goikoetxea, Iñigo Balerdi, Juan José Alvarez or Iruri Knörr.

Ongi etorri Basque Tribune and good luck!
