Santiago, Chile. The Kimuak Program of Basque Short Films, in its more than 20 years of life has grown and has now extended far beyond the borders of the Basque Country. “Kimuak,” in Basque means sprouts, and that is how its motto reads: “We collect the sprouts that emerge every spring in Basque short film, to take them to all corners of the world.” With numerous international awards to its credit, and after having participated in many festivals, the program has had, and still has, a notable presence in Basque clubs. The Basque Diaspora, in every corner, appreciates those small, large doses of the latest in Basque cinema.
This time, the Delegation of Euskadi in Chile, Peru and Colombia proposes a series that will allow the enjoyment of good Basque film in a shorter format. Appropriate for the current times, the series will be virtual. There will be five meetings on the four Thursdays of August, and the first Thursday of September beginning at 7:30PM (local Chile time, 8:30pm in Argentina and 1:30am Friday morning in the Basque Country), to watch a selection of shorts in the series.
In order to enjoy these films, you must register, and spots are limited to 100 people. To register, just fill out the form confirming your attendance with minimum personal information. You will then receive a link to access the event. To enroll click here.
This activity is supported by the Basque Government, the Basque Filmoteca and the Etxepare Basque Institute.
