Cañuelas, Argentina. Every year Basque institutions in Argentina gather to celebrate Aberri Eguna, and they do so while through various activities. Since 2007, the Denak Bat Basque club in Cañuelas has celebrated by gathering dantzaris for various Basque clubs in an event that has always been very well attended. The reason why it has been so successful are varied, but without a doubt the most important is that it is an excellent opportunity to present dances from the Basque Country as well as being guaranteed a two-day Basque festival, in one of the best climates, as well as being very carefully organized by the hosting club.
The Dantzaris Gathering will take place on April 5th and 6th. Delegations will gather on Saturday at noon at the Basque club where they will participate in a kalejira to the main plaza in town where the stage is set and where the local tamborreros will play songs by Maestro Sarriegi. Following, there will be dance performances, dinner and a dance, at the clubhouse. Dancers will be lodged as always at the Smata facilities. The festival will conclude on Sunday at noon with a farewell BBQ.
The vouchers cost the following: $450 for dancers and directors and $470 for companions. In both cases, the package includes dinner and dance on Saturday, lodging, breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
