Cordoba, Argentina. A new and interesting proposal has come to us from the capital of the Argentinean province of Cordoba. The Cordobatarrak group, associated with the local Gure Txokoa Basque club, has launched a website whose main function is to make Basque music available, specifically that for dance groups. One can listen to the music online but it can also be downloaded, either way the service is free of charge and very simple.
The page is already very active and has four tracks on the front page and a large variety of songs in its “Albums” section. These albums will continue to grow according to users’ needs. According to the group, “the idea is that the group looking for music specifies its needs and if it is not already on the page, it can be ordered, and we will find it, thus adding it to the page” explained Aletxu Lamaver, member of Cordobatarrak.
There will be other things on the site besides music including videos of dance groups from Argentinean Basque clubs, a list of events and song lyrics in Basque. The page is managed by the Cordobatarrak and can be found at: www.purevolume.com/Cordobatarrak. You can also contact the group through its Facebook page: Cordobatarrak Dantza Taldea.
