San Martin de los Andes, Argentina. Just two years old, the thriving Basque club in San Martin de los Andes, in the province of Neuquen, has taken upon itself to organize the local Basque community, but also create links with other Euskal Etxeas in Patagonia. With this goal in mind, they are hosting a Gathering of Patagonia Basque Clubs. This is not so simple, since for example, the distance between San Martin de los Andes and Rio Gallegos is 1,800 kilometers; nevertheless, the organizers know the reality of the institutions is similar and that is what their starting point will be for generating joint projects.
The Euskal Txokoa extended the invitation not only to Basque clubs in Patagonia but also to FEVA and its president, Hugo Andiazabal, and the Basque Government’s Delegate in Argentina, Sara Pagola, who have confirmed that they will attend.
