Saladillo, Argentina. The city of Saladillo, in the province of Buenos Aires, will again be the site of another “Convivencia Clarinetsitica” (Clarinetist Coexistence), a training program for clarinetists and directors coordinated by Julieta Ugartemendia, along with Masters Alberto Brass, and Edgardo Palotta. According to Ugartemendia, in parallel with the meeting of musicians that took place this week, the Itxaropen Basque Club have been working several months to put together a choir that includes some 20 members to participate in the event, practicing and performing with a clarinet ensemble.
The material that the clarinetists were working on with the choir included two pieces from the Basque songbook facilitated by the Euskal Etxea and arranged by Ugartemendia and Edgardo Palotta, with the collaboration of Professor Gabriela Sameghini.
The choir’s recital will take place on Friday and is open to the public at City Hall gardens beginning at 8:30pm.
