Viedma, Argentina. The participation of the Euskal Etxea in the inauguration of the new Daycare #70 in the neighborhood of San Martin isn’t a coincidence: the Aberri Etxea Basque Club has sponsored the institution since 2015 in hopes of “sharing and integrating children and their families into the Basque club activities, and in that way, enrich the intercultural exchange and carry out strategies to support equal education.”
The ceremony took place last Monday with standard-bearers and Aberrti Etxea Basqwe club choir, Abestu Beti, directed by Cristian Castillo also present. Rocio Basterra, member of the choir and club president, was also part of the Basque delegation that attended the event.
The provincial governor, Alberto Weretilneck, also accompanied the children when it was time to cut the ribbon on the new installations in front of more than 60 local families.
