The Eusko Etxea in Caracas held its General Assembly on March 14, when it elected its new board of directors among other things. The new team includes Izaskun Azpiritxaga, Oyane Arregui, Kattalin Alaba, Maialen Azpiritxaga, Unai Azpiritxaga and Xabier Landa. Zorionak and much success!
Caracas, Venezuela. The Caracas Basque club continues to write its story, and last Saturday, it elected a new board of directors during its General Assembly. The new team, whose election was approved unanimously, includes Izaskun Azpiritxaga, Oyane Arregui, Kattalin Alaba, Maialen Azpiritxaga, Unai Azpiritxaga and Xabier Landa. During the gathering, the previous board also presented a report along with an economic report that was also approved by the majority.
The new board is comprised by members born in Venezuela, in the heart of exiled families that are very well-known in the community, and “who are part of the Eusko Etxea since before they were born,” according to club sources. All of them have actively participated in the Basque club life, in dance groups, sports, etc.
The new team and members present at the assembly thanked the outgoing board for its good work, led by president, Pedro Javier Arriaga. Arriaga will continue as the head of Jazoera, the club’s digital newsletter and that of the Basque community of Venezuela. Mila esker guztieri!
Several attending members also committed themselves to collaborate in the creation of work committees to support the new board.
