Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Basque Government held its weekly meeting yesterday, Tuesday, of its
Governing Council and recognized Bruselako Euskal Etxea (BEE) as a Basque Center, with its headquarters in Brussels Belgium, applying the benefits of the Law 8/1994, of May 27th, regarding relations with Collectivities and Basque Centers abroad.
In this way the European capital returns to having a recognized Basque center after the former entity, the Txalaparta Euskal Etxea, was decommissioned and dropped from the rolls a little more than seven years ago.
EuskalKultura.com published an article on the club two weeks ago that explains more about its history and its formation. See article here.
On the other hand, the Basque Government has a Delegation of Euskadi, institutional representative office in Brussels, with Marta Marín as its delegate.
