The Official Bulletin of the Basque Country (EHAA-BOPV) published today, May 15^th, included the Resolution from the Secretary General of Foreign Action, Marian Elorza, opening the application period for this year’s Gaztemundu program aimed at youth between the ages of 18-35 who are members of Basque clubs around the world. Fifteen individuals will have the opportunity to participate in the program September 1-16, dedicated this year to traditional dance.  June 18^th is the deadline to apply.

Vitoria-Gasteiz.   Published in today’s Official Bulletin means that tomorrow will begin the application period for Gaztemundu 2018 that will take place in Vitoria-Gasteiz September 1-16.  Eligible individuals would include dantzaris or dance instructors between the ages of 18-35, by January 1, 2018. Participants need to have membership in a Basque club that is officially recognized by the Basque Government, for at least three years, and having not participated in another Gaztemundu program since 2003.

The evaluation committee will assess applications according to the following point system:

1. Video recording (maximum of 40 points)
2. Seniority and degree of involvement in the Basque club to which you pertain (maximum of 40 points)
3. Knowledge of Euskera (maximum of 10 points).
4. Never having visited the Basque Country (10 points).

The video must contain:

-Knowledge of the chosen dance by the candidate (maximum of 10 points).
-Capability of interpreting dance and explaining its significance (maximum of 15 points).
-Teaching knowledge of the same (maximum of 15 points)

Other points to be considered:

-Longevity as a club member (maximum 10 points)

In regards to responsibility roles:

-Hold or have held positions of responsibility in the management of the Basque club in the past, but not at the time of the publication of this resolution (maximum 5 points).

-Hold a position at the time of the publication of this resolution outside the scope of the board of directors, youth groups, dances, libraries or others (maximum 5 points).

-Hold, as of the date of publication of this Resolution positions of responsibility on boards of directors as members, or in general management tasks (maximum 10 points)

-Hold as of the date of publication of this Resolution positions of responsibility of president, secretary or treasurer of the entity (maximum 10 points).
