Bolivar, Argentina. Nearly 200 people gathered at the Navarrese club in Bolivar to celebrate its 60th anniversary with its members and friends. The event included entertainment by the choir and dancers who performed some of the most typical dances from Navarre. In honor of the history of the institution, the current dance group invited former dancers to perform together. “The idea was to even include former dancers, even the older ones from the first dance group in 1954, which was very large, so that we could dance together,” said organizers.

[The choir joined in the party and singing some pieces from its repertoire]
Among guests present, were youth from the Navarrese club in Mar del Plata who traveled to Bolivar to join in the festivities. The hosts provided a wonderful menu and of course an excellent birthday cake complete with cider.
[Dances brightened up the evening but mostly gathered dances of all ages]
The Navarrese club let us know that it will hold its annual general assembly in May to elect new officers, as well as every year to join in the 2014 San Fermin celebration. The festivities will take place in Bolivar on July 18th.
