La Plata, Argentina. The Honorable Chamber of Deputies in the Province of Buenos Aires honored people and institutions that have achieved a better quality of life through sports at yesterday’s World Day of Physical Activity event. In this context, they honored the work done at the Euskal Etxea in La Plata and its Blind Soccer Team which has achieved an outstanding level, locally and nationally, coordinated by Nahuel Saenz, along with trainer Martin Marelli, and team captain Lelio Sanchez, participating in tournaments organized by the Sports Federation for the Blind.
In the words of Nahuel Saenz, “This recognition is important, not only because it puts “adapted sports” on the agenda, but also because it gives visibility to those in these individuals, as in other sports, who strengthen social ties, and values like solidarity and companionships that we consider a concept of health that encompasses more than the physical and is part of collective health.”
Participating in the event were provincial and national authorities along with Basque club president, Javier Clua and representing the team, Carlos Juarez, Diego Fernandez and goalie, Ignacio Valdemoros. Zorionak to the team and club!
