The new “Amalur” restaurant will be more than just a gastronomic proposal. In fact, diners will be able to enjoy various cultural manifestations at the heart of the Basque Club. If we refer to the menu, the stars in the kitchen at “Amalur” will be fish and seafood. “And the best tortilla in Buenos Aires,” Chef Shanti Aboitiz affirms.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. “Amalur” was born out of a contract signed between Laurak Bat and Chef Shanti Aboitiz, that allows the owner of the Basque Lekeitio Tavern in Buenos Aires to put his new initiative to work fusing Basque and the local, traditional and modern. “Amalur” is on the first (American) floor of Laurak Bat where the club’s restaurant had been, although it has undergone many renovations and improvements, the space maintains the same spirit.
As Aboitiz told EuskalKultura.com, “the restaurant will have two clearly different parts. In the entrance ther will be a bar where we will offer pintxos, beverages, and coffee as well as dinners, but in a more informal manner. In the dining room, the other side of the Tree of Gernika, the restaurant is preparing more formal lunches and dinners.”
In regards to the menu, besides a large variety of pintxos, the menu will include dishes based on fish, seafood and rice. “And we will also have the best tortilla in Buenos Aires,” he affirms without a doubt. All these specialties will be complemented by artistic proposals of Basque music and dance.
