Vitoria-Gasteiz. After the Evaluation Commission finished reviewing the applications, the results of the 2020 grants aimed at helping those in situations of extreme need, are now ready to be published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country (EHAA-BOPV). According to the director of Basque Communities Abroad Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, on his Facebook page, 112 families will receive aid, in seven countries. Women lead the majority of these families.
These Basque Government Grants are awarded annually through the network of Euskal Etxeak and the total Budget for the 2020 grants is 202,000 Euros.
"This is a good program to collaborate with the most disadvantaged people in the Basque community abroad, since migrant experiences are not always successful," Alvarez Aranburu pointed out.
