Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Basque Government has announced the appointment of Sara Pagola Aizpiri, from Elgoibar, as the new Delegate of Euskadi in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Pagola will take over for Elvira Cortajarena, who was named by the previous administration by Patxi Lopez and who was let go in January.
Pagola started her professional career at the AZTI Institute concentrating on the world of management and implementation methods such as ISO 9000 and EFQM in large food companies, as she explained to the Elgoibarren.net magazine.
This experience took her to Buenos Aires, with the mission to create and set up the Basque-Argentinean Institute for Food Quality. Two years later she returned to the Basque Country and was offered the directorship of the ELKIKA Foundation and then in 2011 she was hired as the manager of the Cristobal Balenciaga Foundation, with the challenge of launching the well-known Museum Getaria. After completing this objective, backed by the great numbers of visitors and the strong international presence of the Museum, Pagola left the post the same year.
