The Basque Government gives the green light for 2017 grants for Euskal Etxea with a budget of 900,000 Euros

The Basque Government gave the green light yesterday to the 2017 grants for Basque clubs, federations and confederations.  The total budget is 902,307 Euros, or 40,000 more than last year.  Basque clubs who are interested in applying need to wait for its publication in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country that is anticipated to appear on June 21st.  The day after its publication will mark the beginning of the application period with applications being accepted for a month from that date. 

Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Basque Government gave the green light on Tuesday, at the weekly meeting of the Basque Government’s council, for the 2017 grants awarded to Basque clubs, federations and confederations. This year’s budget is 902,307 Euros, an increase of 40,000 Euros from last year.

The majority of the grants, or 782,307 Euros will be attributed to Capital IV projects, or support for annual programs, and activities at Basque clubs, preferable in the areas of youth, women, image abroad, communication and the recovery of historical memory, as well as operating expenses.

The rest of the budget, or 120,000 Euros that includes an increase of 40,000 Euros from last year, is aimed at capital improvements, infrastructure, to finance partially or totally, improvements of clubs especially those damaged by disasters; removal of architectural barriers; new club construction, creating spaces for young people or introducing technologies for the development of activities for young people and women.

The grants that were approved today are for 190 Basque clubs, and federations that are officially recognized, located in 25 countries all over the world. Including the last one being recognized this week by the Government, the one in Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

Basque clubs and institutions who are interested in applying need to wait for the announcement to appear on the Official Bulletin of the Basque country (BOPV-EHAA) anticipated for June 21. The application would then open on June 22nd and will be open for a month from then. EuskalKultura.com will also announce the opening and closing of this application period.
